【News】Asia University Holds a Career Expo and Participating Companies Release Nearly 3,000 Jobs!

The career expo was held by AU that attracted 80 well-known companies and government units from medical, financial, information technology, manufacturing, and catering to recruit talents this year.

Prof. Jeffrey J. P. Tsai, the president of Asia University, said that in addition to training students’ professional and innovative abilities, Asia University pays more attention to students’ morality, and graduate students are the most popular talents for companies.
President Jeffrey J. P. Tsai said that nearly 20 companies, including hospitals, optics and medical equipment companies, etc., came to AU to recruit talents in the career expo held by AU on May 12, and the achievement is through the hard work of the College of Medical and Health Science, the College of Nursing, and the Asia University Hospital (AUH) over the past few years. Furthermore, coming from the Department of Nursing at the Cathay General Hospital (CGH), an informatics nurse said that students who graduated from the Department of Nursing at AU have good quality, and so she came to this exposition to recruit new talents especially.
Prof. Shao-Liang Chang, Dean of Student Affairs at AU, said that AU held the career expo for the students who will graduate from AU on June 5, and the exposition has more than 80 companies and government units which came to AU to recruit talents. Furthermore, the exposition provided nearly 3000 high-quality jobs, including psychologists, speech therapists, audiologists, nurses, optometrists, nutritionists, physiotherapists, engineers, accountants, kindergarten teachers, etc. Dean Chang believes that these jobs are provided to offer opportunities to the students of the College of Medical and Health Science to obtain national certificates. These opportunities are offered because of the excellent service reputation of the alumni of AU in the industry. Due to these opportunities, many students of AU registered at the scene for interviews offered by the representatives from the industry.
President Tsai pointed out that AU had applied for an employment program of the Workforce Development Agency of the Ministry of Labor; and AU is ranked the first among the universities in Central Taiwan, and the best in the higher education system in the country. According to the 1111 Manpower Bank survey, the most popular reasons for companies to hire students of AU are their creativity, empathy, responsibility, and teamworking. Furthermore, Director Lin, the Central Department of the Workforce Development Agency of the Ministry of Labor, said that the business community affirms the innovation and teamwork spirit of the students of AU. This fact is also the result of the cooperation between the Workforce Development Agency of the Ministry of Labor and AU in training professional talents over the years.

Dean of the College of Nursing at AU, Prof. Hua-Shan Wu, said that since the opening of the AUH, its high-quality medical care has been praised by the public. Furthermore, AUH provides a scholarship of NTD 250,000 per year for the junior and senior students of the College of Nursing after getting a nurse certificate, and ensures employments to the students with a monthly salary of more than NTD 50K. In addition, major medical institutions across the country come to AU to recruit talents because the professionalism of AU alumni is appreciated very much by the industry in recent years.
Prof. Yu-Ling Hsieh, Head of the Career Development and Guidance Section of the Student Affairs Office at AU, said that the College of Medical and Health Science of AU trains talents for obtaining national certificates, including the Department of Psychology, the Department of Optometry, the Department of Physical Therapy, the Department of Audiology and Speech Pathology, the Department of Medical Laboratory Science and Biotechnology, the Department of Healthcare Administration, etc. Furthermore, the alumni who obtained national certificates have very good reputations for their services in the academia. This fact attracts many medical institutions and long-term care centers, such as CGH, China Medical University Hsinchu Hospital, Wanqiao Branch of Taichung Veterans General Hospital, Taichung Tzu Chi Hospital, Show Chwan Mermorial Hospital, En chu Kong Hospital, Lin Shin Hospital, etc., to come to the school to recruit talents. This has become a feature of talent recruitment in AU that so far does not have a medical department!

Dr. Jia-hui Chu, an informatics nurse of the Department of Nursing at the CGH, said that the CGH is a medical center with good benefits, and there are also many colleagues of the hospital sections in the central and southern Taiwan. Furthermore, the graduates from the Department of Nursing at AU have good quality, so the CGH come to this career expo to recruit talents. In addition, Rn. Chen, a nurse from the China Medical University Hsinchu Hospital, said that the hospital has expanded its number of beds and is in urgent need of nurses recently. She also mentioned that similar medical institutions need as well social workers, nutritionists, health managers, medical equipment sales personnel, and care attendants.
The Student Affairs Office pointed out that 80 well-known financial and information companies, including HIWIN technologies corp., Longchang Group, CC TECH, Tien Li Offshore Wind Technology CO., IKEA, etc., provided nearly 3000 jobs in this career expo.
In order to meet the needs of students for job hunting, the Career Development and Guidance Section of the Student Affairs Office at AU hires professional career counselors especially to provide students with high-quality resume diagnosis services. Furthermore, Dean Zhang expects to help manufacturers find talents through this career expo, promote connections and cooperation between AU and the industry, and increase students' job opportunities and employment rates.
