The Asia Management College (AMC) became the first university to adopt the 2020 standard in AACSB Continuous Improvement Review (CIR) in central Taiwan and held a formal accreditation visit on 11/15-19 2021.

The Asia Management College (AMC) became the first university to adopt the 2020 standard in AACSB Continuous Improvement Review (CIR) in central Taiwan and held a formal accreditation visit on 11/15-19 2021. AACSB (Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business) is one of the three major accreditation organizations for business/ management schools in the world. Founded in the United States in 1916, it aims to promote the certification of global management education quality. Less than 5 percent of the more than 16,000 business schools around the world have earned AACSB Accreditation.
The Peer Review Team (PRT) members came from three different countries, including the chair, Dean Ross James, from the University of Canterbury in New Zealand, the member, Dean Wilert Puriwat, from Chulalongkorn University in Thailand, and the member, Dean Paul Tesluk, from State University of New York at Buffalo in the United States. Of particular note is that the University of Canterbury is accredited with the ‘Triple Crown’ (AACSB, EQUIS, and AMBA) of business accreditations; Chulalongkorn University with the ‘Double Crown’ (AACSB and EQUIS); and State University of New York at Buffalo by AACSB.
The PRT has been conscientious with regard to their role as examiner showing their rigorous and fair personality during the review process. The connection and communication with the chair, Dean James, have been frequent and going smoothly during the period of the accreditation journey. He has raised diverse challenging questions for us to make continuous improvement and the AMC showed our respect and fulfilled every challenge we could.
Due to the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, the visit was held using virtual devices. In order to ensure that the visit itinerary complies with AACSB specifications and procedures, the AMC has repeatedly consulted with Dean James and Ms. Liyan Chen, who is the manager of AACSB in the Asia Pacific Branch. The AMC also held many teachers and student orientations for the visit.
With the concerted efforts of all units, and the determination to become an outstanding management college, the visit finally ended successfully.
